Fort Discovery’s Founder and President Joe D’Amico wanted a specially designed rifle for our fighting forces both at home and abroad. “Whether fighting overseas or here at home, the ‘Expedition’ rifle will be here to defend and protect you and your family,” says D’Amico.

The Expedition rifle is custom machined from 7000 series precision CNC aircraft billet aluminum and tumbled after machining to ensure a smooth finish. An ergonomically designed mag release allows easier use while wearing gloves. A custom magwell with four grit grooves was designed for optimal reloading.

Each “Expedition” rifle is individually hand-crafted and assembled in the U.S.A. It goes through the highest level of quality control to ensure that we provide you with a rife you can always rely on.

Expedition Rifle Specs

Milled out of high-grade, 7000 series solid aluminum billet – the same aluminum used in the manufacturing of high-grade aircraft parts.
Upper and lower receivers are hard coat anodized to Mil-Spec standards and tumbled after machining to ensure a smooth finish and reduce cracks.
Features a16-inch melonite-treated, heavy barrel with M4 cut feed ramps, stress relieved, headspaced with Milspec heavy phosphate finish. 1/7 twist rate chambered in 5.56 NATO.
Magpul™ MOE stock with commercial size buffer tube.
High quality Magpul™ furniture including two magazines, hand guard and grip. Vertical Fore Grip is optional.
Bolt Carrier Group is magnetic particle inspected (MPI), Shot Peened Bolt, Extractor Booster, Chrome Lined Carrier, Properly Staked Gas Key.

Magwell has straight corners, which keeps it clear of dirt and debris in the field.

Rifle is optics-ready with rear-folding back up sight enabling the shooter to utilize either the optics or traditional open style sights.
The integral trigger guard is specially machined in, which gives the rifle a more refined look and keeps the structural integrity in that portion of the receiver.
Internal parts and trigger are crafted to Mil-Spec standards.
